River Gorge and Laurel Point Loop Trail

This trail is ideal when you want the satisfaction of a good hike without spending the entire day on the trail. Just under 3.5 miles, the River Gorge and Laurel Point Loop offers views that make it feel much bigger. You will move through light woods and open to overlook points that frame the Tennessee River below, especially lovely in the morning or late afternoon light.

It is moderate, but not without a few short climbs that keep it from being too easy. If you are hiking with children who can handle a bit of terrain or just need a mental reset outdoors, this trail works well. It is a short loop, but by the end, it feels like you’ve had a full experience. There is room to stop and think. Or not think at all.
